Mount Kit, Bus to Bug Transmission IRS

Bus to Beetle IRS Transmission Mounting Kit allows the bolt in installation of the stronger and more durable 002 or 091 IRS Bus Transmission into a 1962 through 1972 Beetle chassis. The kit includes a heavy duty, solid mount rear saddle and strap, solid nose cone mount and strap, along with mounting hardware. Converting to a Bus trans comes along with having a larger CV joint at the trans side. We recommend swapping the stub axle (at the trailing arm) to the conversion Type 2 stub axles. When using a Bus transmission in a Beetle chassis that has stock IRS trailing arms, shorter 15 5/8″ axles are necessary. If the stock shifter and shift rod (in the tunnel) are being used, EMPI offers a Beetle to Bus transmission coupler.
